- Janet CLovely clean, well maintained cottage in a beautiful rural setting. Owners on hand if needed but not intrusive. Cottage was well equipped, with all you need for a self catering holiday. Lots of lovely places nearby for visits and eating out.
- Rachael SWe had the most delightful stay at Braeside Farm. The cottage was warm, comfortable and relaxing - just what we needed after a delayed flight. We were personally greeted by Nick, and the communication between the hosts was excellent. Upon entry to the cottage we were greeted by homemade tea loaf (which was delicious!) The cottage is very well equipped and has thoughtful touches throughout from board games to bath soaps. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the surrounding areas. We enjoyed lovely walks along the coastal path at Crail, and cocktails at the Shoregate. Walks to Glendale waterfalls and West Lomond Hill Cairn. As well as exploring St Andrews. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for the fantastic hospitality.
- Mark T4 of us stayed for 5 nights - Loved It. Nick & Sophie we’re extremely lovely and very helpful hosts. Beautiful accommodation with all we needed, and all very, very clean. Delightful location and we really enjoyed seeing the dogs, chickens (great eggs), cows (massively friendly), sheep every day. Thoroughly enjoyed St Andrews and the local coastal villages too. Terrific value and we hope to return when next in Scotland. Definite ‘Five Stars’.

'Sophie and Nick’s place is sublime - peaceful setting, very tastefully fitted and furnished and well priced - it was an absolutely perfect place to base myself, hoping to be back soon.' Cathy, November 2022
'Fabulous location in the middle of unspoiled countryside. Nick was a great host very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Lovely walking options from your doorstep and a Michelin star restaurant a stone throw away. Loved the hens horses and highland coos and filmed a buzzard nearby. Highly recommended. Thanks Sophie and Nick for a fabulous short break in a great location. Sitting in the evening in front of the wood burner in the middle of lovely unspoiled countryside after a hard day's walking suited us both down to the ground knowing a good night's sleep in an extremely comfortable bed awaited. Hope to visit again sometime.' David, October 2022
'We had a wonderful restful week in Fife in the beautiful setting of Nick and Sophie’s farm. The cottage was probably the cleanest property we have ever stayed in on AirBnB in over ten years of using the platform. The cottage was very well equipped, just as described, and had thoughtful touches like a welcome gift and milk for tea. The farm animals — two highland cows, a small flock of sheep, some aging hens, the neighbouring ponies and cattle, the many wild rabbits, the two resident dogs — were all firm favourites for our two children. Our hosts Nick and Sophie, and Sophie’s dad while they were away, were great communicators. We hope very much to return to Braeside Farm.' Kartik, July 2022
'Braeview Cottage, located on a farm in a peaceful area of Fife was compact, cosy and very well equipped. Its location was ideal to tour and walk the coastal villages with their stunning coastline and beaches and visit St Andrews, and other historic places and gardens. Nick and Sophie were excellent hosts, respecting our privacy, but also there should we need anything. Thank you both and also for the ‘bubbly’, scone cake and fresh eggs. Such a wonderful way to be greeted at the start of our stay. A definite ‘go to again’ place.' Lindy, March 2022
'Absolutely perfect from arrival to departure. Very well detailed with a very personal touch . Would highly recommend 😊' Michelle, December 2021
'Sophie and Nick saved the day when our original AirBnB had to cancel after storm damage. We were more than happy with this stay and would highly recommend the cottage. Log burner, waterfall shower, great views and all the amenities you could need with an excellent finish. Perfect getaway!' Josie, November 2021
'Lovely cottage set in beautiful surroundings. The views are great and the chickens, ponies, rabbits and sheep were lovely to see. Delicious fruit cake waiting for us. The stove was fantastic to have on, especially when the wind and rain was howling outside. Delicious fresh eggs for our breakfast and very good washing facilities. Perfect distance from all of the towns, we will definitely be back!' David, October 2021
'The perfect antidote to City-centre burnout! we normally stay in the heart of St. Andrews but really loved the thought of living on the Farm but with only a short drive to all of our favourite places. The cottage is so well equipped, immaculately clean and well proportioned with great living and sleeping spaces. lovely access from the bedroom to the patio, to wake up and sit out side with then hens. Oh and the Hens!!!! - they are adorable and the kids loved them. Such a lovely family with such a lovely gift left as a welcome on the kitchen counter! Very comfortable beds and great laundry facilities too! it was just perfect after a busy working period and living in the city! Thank you for creating such a lovely space! We will be back!!! Emma, July 2021
'Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eastburn cottage. Cottage was clean and well equipped for a family holiday. Accommodation is compact but very comfortable and perfect for our family; 2 adults and 2 children. Staying on a farm and in close proximity to the chickens was a great experience for our city slicker kids. Nick, Sophie and family were great hosts; attentive but not intrusive. Location is rural but found that any sights or beaches we wanted to visit, were no more than a 10-15 minute drive.' Graeme, June 2021
'Sophie and Nick’s barn cottage is so lovely - fresh and clean and nice décor. The views are so nice and it’s fun to see the animals roaming around! Super hospitality and communication from these hosts and so much to explore in East Neuk: beautiful fife coastal walks and amazing farm shops and more!' Emma, September 2020
'Thoroughly enjoyed our recent short break at this quiet, peaceful setting.
Braeside Cottage is ideal for couples and is cosy, beautifully finished and
immaculate throughout. The location is excellent for surfing and road cycling.
We couldn't recommend it enough and we intend to return when the opportunity
allows.' Lee and Alistair, September 2020
'Exceptional! Everything about Eastburn cottage was
perfect. The setting was idyllic yet only a short drive to St
Andrews/Crail/Elie/Anstruther, the cottage itself was immaculate and beds super
comfy, finally what makes Eastburn extra special is the welcoming Sophie, Nick &
their boys give you, their special touches really make a difference to your
stay, so much so we wanted to stay longer!' The Adams Family, July 2020
Our stay exceeded expectations on all levels. The cottage was beautiful and so peaceful, extremely clean too. It was not far from St. Andrews town centre but far enough from the hustle and bustle and a fraction of the price of the hotels. The best part was the very thoughtful touches of a home bake, jam and prosecco on arrival. It really made the difference for us. The hosts recommended Forgans and The Peat Inn which we dined in and loved! We loved out stay and cannot wait to return.' Roslynn and Max, March 2020
'We stayed at the Braeview Cottage for 5 days in February. It was utterly delightful. Perfect for us. The wee cottage is sparklingly clean and welcoming. Even on a very cold day it is warm and cosy in the most peaceful surroundings. The views from the French windows (onto the patio) are just wonderful, with fields, hillsides, sheep and trees-- marvellous countryside. The décor in the cottage is very tasteful and modern. We had the most enjoyable holiday and at the end of each busy day it was a joy to return to this superbly equipped accommodation. We hope to return in the Autumn. Congratulations Nick and Sophie -- great wee cottage.!!!!!!’ Collette and Graham, February 2019
'My wife and I had a brilliant stay. Nick and Sophie are very friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage is just beautiful, and in a picturesque location. The cottage is extremely well finished and very well maintained' Andrew, September 2018
‘Great cottage in a gorgeous rural seating but only 10 minutes’ drive from St Andrews. The cottage is tastefully decorated to a high standard with everything you could need. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cottage for couples looking for a stay near St Andrews' Carolyn, August 2018
'We loved our stay at Sophie and Nick’s. It’s a shame it couldn’t last longer. The accommodation is beautiful and the surroundings of the farm were wonderful too. I would highly recommend and would love to stay again' Sarah, July 2018
'We booked the cottage mainly to visit the Open Championship, and we loved it from the very first moment! Lovely interior, very cosy and just perfect for the four of us. Our boys slept well in their double bed in a small but fine sleeping room and so did we in our master bedroom next door. It is just everything there, terrace for summerly weather that we had and also a wood stove for a rainy day - we did not use it! The descriptions of Sophie and Nick are so detailed and the communication fast, that we just found everything! We were just running out of time to discover more of the Scottish East Coast and decided to do that next time! Thanks much again! ' Martin, July 2018
'Sophie and Nick are fantastic hosts and have a lovely place to stay. The cottage/coach house combines beautiful tradition design with a stunning modern interior. I was looking for a private place to relax outside the town and this provides exactly that. In terms of service, Sophie and Nick were there to very quickly answer my every question and request. Fab experience!' Jordan, June 2018
'A great place to stay if travelling the Fife area. We ventured to several villages and the drive never seemed far. We had the pleasure of being greeted at arrival by Sophie, then appropriately left to ourselves to enjoy our time. The onsite laundry was a big bonus, and the peace and quiet of the country was relaxing. We also liked the layout of the space and special touches like games, blankets, movies - felt very much like a home. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it' Tara, June 2018
'We spent a lovely weekend at this gorgeous cottage, the décor is beautiful, modern but cosy. We were greeted with a bottle of fizz which was a thoughtful extra touch we really appreciated. The cottage was spotless with everything you could need for weekend away, cosy blankets, tea and coffee and even milk sachets not forgetting the swing seat where we sat in the sun enjoying our bottle of fizz. We would love to return maybe at new year with kids and spend it in the two bedroom cottage next door which Nick was happy to give us a tour of. Loved it all!' Careen, June 2018
'In our view, Nick and Sophie’s place is top notch. It is off the beaten path, on a working farm with great views and exquisite rustic charm on the outside, with perfect modern charms on the inside. The kitchen and baths are upgraded, there is a cosy wood burning stove in the den, and the beds are super comfy!' Brandon, May 2018 'Braeside Farm is spectacular. The uni
